Travelling Tales of India

Travelling Tales of India If EM Forster's novel " A Passage to India" has moved your mood to travel to India or spiritual nuggets arousing a call at the heavens of Kashi and Rishikesh, I suggest this article is of some value for you. Usually, a call for India comes with the mild reminder of the pollution and poverty there and also the tadka of pandemic makes it an even horrible idea to begin planning with. Nevertheless, we shouldn't forget how far this country has come in terms of prosperity, culture, value, growth, spirituality, medicine and morals. Here are my thoughts before thinking about travelling to India. Number one, Prepare Yourself, you need to be ready for the journey ahead, for some it's going to be tantalizing, for some traumatizing but it's for sure, a unique experience to explore. Number two, Blend In ! This country has an enigma of its own. Don't shy away from trying traditional clothes, footwear, sarees and jewellery. This country is a home of simpletons cherishing life in their own cultural way and it's highly recommended to imbibe knowledge about it from local people on the way.Having Travel Insurance is a must. It frees you from unwanted hassles and makes your trip a delightful one. Take notes from the exemplary travelogue named "Chai Chai" written by Bishwanath Ghosh and skim through the pages of Ruskin Bond novels. They will cater to your travel hunger and help you in planning places and unheard locations of this country. Next in point is keeping a multi way adaptor. This country has both British square pins and European round pins. Don't forget the first aid kit  even though hospital and dispensary services are well laid. The RO water is now available almost everywhere. Don't fall prey to those old sayings that India's water is undrinkable. Another important thing to note is that women's safety can be ensured through helpline numbers and women constables. But it would be helpful if women buy a local sim card at the airport. Hiring a professional travel company would be beneficial in the long run. India is a subcontinent and if you want all mountains, beaches, desert and mangroves in a single trip, then India says to you, Dear you are in for a treat!. Arundhati Roy's  novel " God of small things" must have brought cravings for southern beaches. You can bow to the mountains in Ladakh, visit royalty of Rajasthan and lean into the serenity which the city of spirituality, Varanasi is known for.  Most travel is trouble free, provided you get a warm English speaking local guide who doesn't behave like a strict school picnic teacher but let's you wander on your own and helps you understand the unique affair you are going to have with this country. Another highlight, wear covered shoes, common it's  dirty and dusty. Domestic flights might not be very clean but are better than trains. In all, India will soothe your senses but only after a few goosebumps here and there. It's a brilliant amalgamation of science, simplicity and lastly spirituality.
